The RNCM has a worldwide reputation for commissioning, performing and recording contemporary wind music. Over the last 10 years there, Mark has recorded more than 20 commercial CDs for Chandos, Naxos, NMC, Polyphonic and Campion. He has also given numerous premieres and appeared at festivals in the US and UK.
He has conducted the National Youth Wind Orchestras of Great Britain, Wales and Israel, done projects with wind ensembles at the Royal Academy of Music and conservatoires in Portugal, Spain, Norway, Singapore and the Netherlands.
As Director of the Wind Ensemble and Wind Conducting courses at Sherborne Summer School of Music he instigated a composer in residence feature, allowing in depth surveys of the wind music of Adam Gorb (2015), Martin Ellerby (2016), Gary Carpenter (2017), Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen (2018), Nelson Jesus (2019), Adam Gorb and students (2023), and Stephen McNeff (2024).
Mark is currently a Board member of WASBE, where he leads the International Conductors Forum and organises the International Conductors Competition.
